EN10216-5 Seamless Steel Tubes For Pressure Purposes Technical Delivery Conditions

Product Name: Seamless Steel Tubes

Application: Pressure Purposes Technical Delivery Conditions

Steel Grades- EN 10088-1

- austenitic steels ( corrosion resisting or creep resisting steels)

- austenitic-ferritic steels

Manufacturing process and delivery condition:

he tubes are manufactured by a seamless process, both hot finished or cold finished is applicable.

The "hot finished" and "cold finished" condition is left to the discretion of the manufacturer.

Delivery Conditions:

Symbols Types of delivery condition Surface Condition
HFD Hot finished heat treated, descaled Metallically clean
CFD Cold finished heat treated, descaled Metallically clean
CFA Cold finished bright annealed Metallically bright
CFG Cold finished heat treated, ground Metallically bright-gound, the type and degree of roughness hsall be agreed at the time of enquiry and order
CFP Cold finished heat treated, polished Metallically bright-polished, the type and degree of roughness shall be agreed at the time of enquiry and order

a Combinations of the different conditions may be agreed at the time of enquiry and order

b The symbols are abbreviation for type of condition. Example: CDF = Cold Finished Descaled

c The enquiry and the order shall indicate whether the roughness requirement applies on the internal or

external tube surface, or internal and external

  1. Elements not listed in this table shall not be intentionally added to the steel without the agreement of the purchaser except for finishing the cast. All appropriate precautions are to be taken to avoid the addition of such elements from scrap and other materials used in production which would impair mechanical properties and the suitability of the steel.
  2. For products to be machined a controlled sulphur content of 0.015% to 0.030% is permitted by agreement provided the resistance to corrosion is still satisfied for the intended purpose.

Option3:A sulphur content of 0.015% to 0.030% is specified.

  1. Where for special reasons,e.g. hot workability it is necessary to minimize the deltaferrite content,or with the aim of low permeability, the maximum nickel content may be increased by 0.50%
  2. Where for special reasons,e.g. hot workability it is necessary to minimize the deltaferrite content,or with the aim of low permeability, the maximum nickel content may be increased by 1.00%
  3. Where for special reasons,e.g. hot workability it is necessary to minimize the deltaferrite content,or with the aim of low permeability, the maximum nickel content may be increased by 1.50%
